Why I Love Teaching Reiki
There are many paths that lead people to energy healing, but few are as quietly transformative as Reiki. For me, practising Reiki has always been a profound privilege — but teaching it? That's where the real magic happens.
Watching the Moment It Clicks
Every student arrives at their first class carrying something — curiosity, scepticism, grief, or simply a deep knowing that there's more to wellness than what we can see. The moment a student places their hands on someone and feels that warmth, that subtle current of energy, for the very first time — there's nothing quite like witnessing it. It never gets old.
Reiki Finds the Right People
In my experience, Reiki doesn't come to people by accident. Students are drawn to it at exactly the right moment in their lives. Teaching gives me a front-row seat to those turning points — and the honour of being a guide through them. Whether someone is healing from burnout, navigating loss, or simply seeking a deeper connection to themselves, Reiki meets them exactly where they are.
Passing On a Living Tradition
Reiki is more than a technique — it's a lineage. When I attune a student, I'm passing on something that has been handed down through generations of practitioners, all the way back to Mikao Usui. There's a quiet reverence in that. I'm not just teaching a skill; I'm welcoming someone into a community and a way of being in the world.
My classes also evolve over time and have regular updates adding into course material so that my students are kept up to date with new developments and understandings in Reiki.
The Teacher Learns Too
Every class teaches me something new. A student's question I hadn't considered. A healing that unfolds in an unexpected way. A perspective that deepens my own understanding of energy, intention, and presence. Teaching keeps my practice alive and evolving.
Ripple Effects
Perhaps what moves me most is knowing that the healing doesn't stop in the room. Every practitioner I train goes on to touch the lives of their clients, their families, their communities. Teaching Reiki is, in its own way, an act of healing on a much larger scale.
