Jasper is an opaque, fine-grained variety of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz), coloured by mineral inclusions. Yellow Jasper gets its warm mustard-to-ochre tones from iron oxide — the same mineral responsible for Red Jasper, but in a different oxidation state and concentration, producing a softer, earthier palette. A consistently popular tumbled stone for its warm appearance and comfortable weight in the hand. In crystal tradition it is associated with grounding, warmth, and the solar plexus chakra.
