Red Jasper is an opaque chalcedony coloured by hematite (iron oxide) inclusions — the same mineral that gives blood its red colour. One of the most historically used stones across cultures: Ancient Egyptians carved it into protective amulets, and it was widely used for seals and talismans in pre-Columbian North America. Sourced from South Africa. Stones can range from solid brick red to deep red with white or grey markings. In crystal tradition it is associated with grounding, stamina, and the root chakra.
