Pink Opal (sometimes called Cherry Opal) is a soft pastel pink variety of opal. Opal is an amorphous hydrated silicon dioxide and can contain up to 20% water in its structure. Pink Opal has a gentle, opaque appearance distinct from play-of-colour precious opal. In crystal tradition it is associated with calm, centring, and the heart chakra.
