Peacock Ore is the trade name for iridescent copper-bearing minerals — typically Bornite or Chalcopyrite — that display vivid rainbow colours of blue, purple, green, and gold on their surface. The iridescence is caused by surface oxidation rather than internal optical properties. A striking and popular piece in any crystal collection.
