Iolite is a blue-violet magnesium iron aluminium silicate mineral with a distinctive pleochroic quality — it shifts between blue, violet, and grey depending on the angle of light. In crystal tradition it is associated with the third eye chakra, inner wisdom, intuition, and focus. It is also used in shamanic practice.
