Chrysoprase is a variety of chalcedony, a fibrous form of quartz that often contains trace amounts of nickel — which gives its distinctive green colour, ranging from apple-green to deep green.

In crystal tradition, Chrysoprase is associated with the heart chakra, and is traditionally linked to hope and creativity.
