Blue Calcite is one of the softer and more delicate-looking rough crystals — its pale powder-blue colour comes from light scattering within the stone rather than a specific mineral inclusion, giving it a gentle, almost misty appearance. Less common than white or orange calcite, it is prized for its soothing visual quality as much as its use in crystal work. In crystal tradition it is associated with calm communication and the throat chakra.
