Actinolite (Witches Finger) Tumbled Stone
Actinolite is an amphibole mineral — a group of inorganic minerals that form prismatic or needle-like crystal structures within their host stone. These tumbled pieces can include inclusions of rutile, muscovite, feldspar, zircon, mica, calcite, sphalerite, hematite, iron, zinnwaldite, and magnetite.
Some pieces display clearly visible threads of actinolite or rutile within the stone. These crystals are also known as Hair of Venus stone. In their natural, unpolished form they develop an irregular elongated shape with double-terminated points — giving rise to the name "witches finger."
The mine where these were originally sourced is now closed, making them increasingly rare and collectible.
Each tumbled stone is approximately 2–3cm long. Price is for one stone.
