Begin your Reiki journey with this comprehensive Level 1 course taught by Penny Alterskye at our holistic centre and crystal shop in Linford Wood, Milton Keynes. Penny teaches Usui Reiki — the original system of healing introduced by Dr Mikao Usui in the 1800s — a gentle, non-invasive technique suitable for adults, children, pregnant women, the elderly, animals, and babies.

Course Structure

The course is split into two parts totalling 15 hours:

• Online theory (approx. 4 hours): A downloadable video covering the history of Reiki, the 5 etheric principles, the chakra system, anatomy, the physical and etheric bodies, how and when to use Reiki, contraindications, grounding, and protection. This must be completed before attending the in-person class. The download link is emailed to you after purchase — please ensure your email address is correct at checkout. The file is approximately 2.4GB and is more suited to being downloaded and viewed on a computer.
• In-person training (9am–6pm): Held at our Milton Keynes centre, this covers a theory overview, Q&A, meditation, the attunement process, self-healing, and how to work on others (both on a treatment bed and chair). You’ll leave confident in the hand positions and practice of Reiki.

Do I need any prior experience?
No — this is a beginner’s course and no previous knowledge is required.

Can I progress to Level 2 after this?
Yes. After completing your case studies you can advance to Reiki Level 2. If you’re planning to complete the Practitioner Diploma later, please speak to Penny first as both Reiki days will count towards your in-person hours.

Is the course refundable?
Once the video download has been sent, the course becomes non-refundable.
